At the centre of a veritable revival, amber was the highlight of a fascinating exhibition devised by Salvatore and Marco Greco, of Ambra Greco, on the occasion of VicenzaOro 2. The display covered a range of beautiful samples representing the rarest and very special varieties: of greatest interest were those from the Dominican Republic, form the Baltic States, from China, from Burma, from Lebanon and from Sicily, the original locality of very rare simetite, an Italian red-coloured amber. Ambra Greco, founded about thirty years ago, guarantees every single piece with a certificate declaring its origin: the wide assortment deals exclusively with untreated pieces, besides attractive fancy objects with amber. The firm collaborates with important natural history museums and private collectors and over the years has promoted a series of itinerant shows which have met with great success among connoisseurs and simple admirers.
